Business Licence Regulations Amendment Bylaw

Background

The Regional District is proposing to amend the Business Licence Regulations Bylaw No. 3100 in order to introduce licencing requirements for operators of tourist accommodation uses in Electoral Area "E", including:

  • agri-tourism accommodations;
  • campgrounds;
  • hotels;
  • motels;
  • tourist accommodations; and
  • tourist cabins.

The business licence application fee for tourist accommodation uses is proposed to be established at $200.

Engagement Opportunities

Under Section 59(2) of the Community Charter, the Regional District must do the following before adopting a new business licence regulation bylaw:

  • give notice of its intention to adopt a new bylaw; and
  • provide an opportunity for persons who consider they are affected by the bylaw to make representations to the Board.

The Regional District encourages feedback on the proposed bylaw amendment. Feedback can be submitted electronically to planning@rdos.bc.ca by 4:00 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2025.
