INFORMATION RELEASE

Representatives from the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) will be at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre for the Penticton Home Show on March 8 and 9, 2025.

Visit the RDOS booth to learn more about emergency preparedness, FireSmart, ALERT, and Emergency Support Services (ESS).

  • Emergency Preparedness: Learn how you can prepare for emergencies and stay informed.

Speak with Emergency Support Services (ESS) volunteers about managing the impacts of emergencies or disasters on individuals and communities.

  • FireSmart: Safeguard your property from the potential impacts of wildfire and sign up for a free FireSmart assessment.
  • Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team (ALERT): Dedicated to animal welfare through the preparation for and evacuation, rescue and shelter of domestic animals and livestock in a disaster. Volunteers are mobilized when local and/or provincial authorities request ALERT’s expertise.   
  • Emergency Support Services (ESS): RDOS Emergency Services provides ESS as part of emergency preparedness, response, and recovery. ESS is an emergency response program comprised of dedicated volunteers who share a common goal of assisting people impacted by an emergency or disaster. 

South Okanagan and Similkameen residents and property owners are encouraged to visit the RDOS booth during the Penticton Home Show to learn more about these important programs and services.
