Lakeshore Waterworks and Vintage Views Wastewater Utilities update
News ArticleINFORMATION RELEASE
The official results of the Lakeshore Waterworks and Vintage Views Wastewater Utilities Referendum are now posted on the RDOS Regional Connections interactive website.
The determination of official assent voting results was made by the Chief Election Officer on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at 9:00 am and is based on ballot accounts as prepared by the Chief Election Officer.
Next steps:
With the assent vote complete, the utilities acquisition process will proceed pending approval by the RDOS Board of Directors. The remaining conditions in the agreement with the owner will be completed, and a transition plan will be developed.
“This decision has been a long time coming and it’s great that the residents can now know the future direction their water and wastewater services will be taking,” said Matt Taylor, Electoral Area “D” director. “These two services will be converted from private ownership to the RDOS. And while this means many things, the significant investments required regardless of ownership, will now be eligible for grant funding and municipal financing either of which can reduce the amount paid by residents and property owners.”
New information and key dates regarding the acquisition process will be prepared and posted soon on the Vintage Views Wastewater and Lakeshore Waterworks Acquisition Process project page on RDOS Regional Connections. Information will also be published on RDOS web and social media channels.
