Evacuation Alerts Rescinded
The RDOS Emergency Operations Centre (EOC) has rescinded Evacuation Alerts for the Bald Range Wildfire for some areas in Electoral Areas “F” and “H”.

• View the Evacuation Order Rescind and list of properties here.
• View the interactive map on the RDOS website to confirm the rescind for your affected property or call the call centre at 250-490-4225, and staff will confirm your address status.

Evacuation Order Rescinded
RDOS EOC have rescinded the Evacuation Order for Brent Lake, Single Creek Area in Electoral Area "F" effective at 2:00 pm today on Friday, August 28, 2026.

Emergency Support Services (ESS)
The ESS Reception Centre at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre will conclude in-person operations at 4:00 pm on Friday, August 28, 2026. Residents who require assistance can continue to contact ESS by phone at 250-486-1890, available daily from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

• The ESS Helpline is also available at 1-800-387-4258, available daily from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. 
• Additional details about ongoing support services will be shared as they become available.  

Residents returning to areas previously under an Evacuation Order are encouraged to review the re-entry guide for important information and resources, including:

• Checking your property for potential hazards
• Next steps if you have a well or private water system
• Safe disposal of food and damaged appliances
• Accessing available support services and recovery information

Please note that areas in and around Faulder remain under an Evacuation Order. Access restrictions remain in place, and only authorized personnel and approved permit holders may enter the area. Security personnel will remain in the area to support access restrictions and protect the community.

The EOC is working closely with provincial partners to support the safe return of residents as soon as conditions allow. Thank you for your continued patience, understanding, and cooperation.

Food, fridge, and freezer disposal
The District of Summerland is providing a free drop-off location at the Dale Meadows Sports Field gravel parking lot until Saturday, August 29, 2026. Hours will be 8:30 am to 4:15 pm. All food waste, debris, and other contents must be removed before appliances can be accepted.

Recovery Information Centre
The interim Recovery Information Centre located on the second floor of the George Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre (9525 Wharton Street) in Summerland will close at 4:00 pm today, Friday, August 28, 2026. More information on a new location and hours will be provided as soon as it is confirmed.

Be aware of scams or fraudulent activity
Be cautious of unsolicited calls, texts, emails, or social media messages. Never share financial or personal information with unknown individuals; always verify requests for donations or property access and report suspicious activity to the RCMP Non-Emergency Line.
