PUBLIC HEARING Electoral Areas “A”, “C”, “D”, “E”, “F” and “I” OCP and Zoning Amendment Bylaws

OCP and Zoning amendments are being initiated by the Regional District in order to correct a number of mapping, typographical and other miscellaneous issues that have been identified through day-to-day use of these bylaws.

Amendment Bylaw No. 3089, 2025, proposes to amend Schedule ‘B’ (OCP Map) of the Electoral Area “A”, “D” and “F” Official Community Plan Bylaws to change the land use designation of a number of parcels to Parks and Recreation (PR). In Area “A”, the bylaw proposes to remove references to a Wildfire Interface Development Permit, remove a property acquired for parks purposes from the Environmentally Sensitive Development Permit Area and reflect recent boundary adjustments with the Town of Osoyoos. In Area “D”, the bylaw proposes to change the designation of a portion of a residential property from Parks and Recreation to Low Density Residential (LR).

Amendment Bylaw No. 2800.45, 2025, proposes to amend Schedule ‘2’ (Zoning Map) of the Okanagan Valley Zoning Bylaw No. 2800, 2022, by changing the land use of a number of parcels to Parks and Recreation (PR). The bylaw also proposes to add a provision clarifying that parcel size and dimension rules do not apply to designated access routes in a bare land strata plan. In Area “A”, the bylaw proposes to reflect recent boundary adjustments with the Town of Osoyoos. In Area “D”, the bylaw proposes to change the land use of a portion of a residential property from Parks and Recreation to Low Density Residential.

This bylaw may also be inspected at the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen office at 101 Martin Street, Penticton, BC, on weekdays (excluding statutory holidays) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. up until the close of the public hearing on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Anyone who considers themselves affected by Amendment Bylaw Nos. 3089, 2025 & 2800.45, 2025, can present written information to the Regional District prior to or at the public hearing and may also speak at the public hearing. No letter, report or representation from the public will be received after the conclusion of the public hearing.
