Physical Activity Assessments

Regional Walking Strategy

  • Regional Walk and Roll Week May 5th to 12th, 2019 - Celebrating all forms of walking and reaching 150 mins of moderate physical activity weekly.  Click here to learn more

First Nations Engagement Strategy

  • Building bridges between school districts and indigenious bands located around the Regional District
  • PLAY Boxes enclosed with equipment to promote easy access to physical activity were distributed to each indigenious school in the region
  • ISPARC collaboration

Child and Youth Engagement Strategy

  • FMS training for both coaches and youth interested in exploring a career in recreation or sport. Please contact RDOS Recreation at
  • Try it Dayz - Introductory session to many different sports held in partnership with Pacific Sport Okanagan
  • Use of school facilities in the summer and after school hours

Older Adult Initiative

  • Mentorship programs - Older Adults can share their expertise in programs such as cooking/reading/gardening
  • Try it Days! - Fitness and Sports for 55+
  • Finding a way to reach and market to Older Adults
