Regional Walking Strategy

First Nations Engagement Strategy

  • Building bridges between school districts and Indian Bands located around the Regional District
  • PLAY Boxes to promote easy access to physical activity will be handed out to schools on each Reserve in our area
  • ISPARC collaboration

Child and Youth Engagement Strategy

  • FMS training for both coaches and youth interested in exploring a career in recreation or sport. Please contact Ajeet Brar @ for more information if you are interested in this FREE training session.
  • Try it Dayz - Introductory session to many different sports held in partnership with Pacific Sport Okanagan
  • Use of school facilities in the summer and after school hours

Older Adult Initiative

  • Mentorship programs - Older Adults can share their expertise in programs such as cooking/reading/gardening
