Service Area
The Keremeos Transfer Station only accepts garbage and recycling from the following areas:
- Village of Keremeos
- Electoral Area 'B' (Cawston)
- Electoral Area 'G' (Hedley, Olalla)
Before you go
- The Keremeos Transfer Station is not an active landfill and can only take some materials. Check Fees and Charges above for materials that can be accepted.
- You can save a lot of money if your loads contain only separated materials. Please get to know the items that can be recycled and what items aren't allowed in the landfill.
- Remember to tarp all loads or fees will be doubled to a minimum of $10.00
Recycling and Composting
Save money and reduce the amount of garbage you generate by separating recyclable or compostable materials from garbage.
There is a free residential recycling depot at the entrance of the landfill for common recyclables.

Prohibited Waste (Hazardous Waste)
Some kinds of waste are prohibited from garbage disposal at the Keremeos Landfill. These include, but are not limited to biomedical waste, liquid waste, radioactive waste, flammable or ignitable wastes, and oil.

Annual Report
Annual reports are created every year for all RDOS-operated landfills. These are to provide historic trend information, outline operations, track expenditures, and create recommendations.
