News Article

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is undertaking an analysis in Electoral Area “D” communities on services and opinions on incorporation, as well as discussions on potential boundary configuration options in the Electoral Area. The purpose of the study is to conduct an analysis and work to develop and test potential municipal boundary configurations in Electoral Area “D”.

The RDOS welcomes the following community members to the Electoral Area “D” Service and Boundary Configuration Study committee: Bob Daly, David Forst, Eleanor Walker, Kerrie MacLean, Kurt Hiebert, M. Kay Medland, Matt Taylor, Myleen Mallach, Phyllis Radchenko, and Vi Creasy.

On June 9, 2021 the committee met to discuss the scope and process of the study, and also elected Matt Taylor as committee chair and Bob Daly as vice-chair. A regular meeting schedule is also being established. Committee meetings will be conducted online via Webex pending changes to COVID-19 restrictions.

In the coming weeks, it’s expected the committee will select a consultant to begin implementing strategies to conduct the Electoral Area “D” Service and Boundary Configuration Study.
