RDOS observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
News ArticleThe Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) offices will be closed on Monday, October 2, 2023, in observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
September 30 marks National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and coincides with Orange Shirt Day. The date provides opportunities to engage and educate people about British Columbia’s colonial history and how it has and continues to impact Indigenous communities.
“The RDOS is committed to advancing reconciliation with Indigenous peoples,” said RDOS Chair Mark Pendergraft. “This is a long-term goal that will require ongoing relationship-building.”
