Evacuation ALERT
The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre (RDOS EOC) has issued an Evacuation ALERT for 12 properties in Electoral Areas “B” and “G”, effective Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 5:00 pm due to the Crater Creek wildfire (K52125) and Gillanders Creek wildfire (K51680).

The ALERT covers the area along the Ashnola River in the Cathedral Provincial Park including Cathedral Lakes Lodge and the Snowy Protected Area.

Important Reminders

  • Please respect Area Restriction Notices, use caution and avoid travelling in the backcountry on an ATV or other vehicle
  • Visitors should be mindful of BCWS operations, Evacuation Alerts and Orders

If you are on an Evacuation ALERT or ORDER, or if you have been displaced from your home due to an emergency, please self-register for ESS. Evacuee Registration & Assistance (ERA): ess.gov.bc.ca

Residents under an Evacuation ORDER can call 250-486-1890 to be linked to ESS supports. 

What to do when an Evacuation ALERT is issued?

Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team
If you are in an area under an Evacuation Alert, please make arrangements to relocate animals or livestock. Contact ALERT (Animal Lifeline Emergency Response Team) for assistance: 250-809-7152.
