The following statistics provide an overview of the regional response to the Bald Range Wildfire, including evacuation impacts, Emergency Support Services registrations, rapid damage assessments and temporary access activity. All figures are approximate, reflect conditions and information available as of August 19, 2026, and may change as assessments continue and additional reports are received.
Number of Affected Properties
- 7,093 properties are subject to an evacuation alert or evacuation order.
- 5,110 are within District of Summerland.
- 1,983 are within the RDOS.
RDOS Evacuation Alerts and Orders
- 80% (1,592) of affected properties are on evacuation alert.
- 20% (391) of affected properties are on evacuation order.
District of Summerland Evacuation Alerts and Orders
- 90% (4,580) of affected properties are on evacuation alert.
- 10% (530) of affected properties are on evacuation order.
Emergency Support Services
- 6,864 registrations comprising ~15,031 household members.
- 2,425 by phone (BC Evacuee Helpline)
- 1,953 online through self-service
- 1,444 in-person in other communities
- 1,042 in-person in Penticton

799 properties inspected in total:
- 26 empty lots
- 2 unsafe
- 7 restricted use
- 9 inaccessible
- 42 destroyed
RDOS Electoral Area “F” Rapid Damage Assessment Results
204 properties inspected in total:
- 12 empty lots
- 2 unsafe
- 5 restricted use
- 4 inaccessible
- 105 destroyed
Temporary Access Permits
- 426 Temporary Access Permits were approved for a single time entry between August 10 and 20, 2026.
- 338 Temporary Access Permits were approved for multi-entry between August 15 and 19, 2026.
