The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) is hosting volunteer Pitch-In community cleanup events as part of National Volunteer Week and Earth Day initiatives.

Each year, Canadian communities gather to participate in Pitch-In projects by cleaning up streets, parks, and public spaces. This fun and interactive event provides volunteers the opportunity to rejuvenate local neighbourhoods.

Events will take place in the following communities:

  • Kaleden (Area “I”) Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 9:00 am. Meet at Kaleden Community Hall, 320 Lakehill Road.
  • Okanagan Falls (Area “D”) Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10:00 am. Meet at Okanagan Falls Recreation Centre, 1141 Cedar Street.
  • Twin Lakes (Area “I”) Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 10:00 am. Meet at Twin Lakes RV Park green space, 79 Twin Lakes Road.
  • Keremeos (Area "G") Monday, April 22, 2024, at 10:00 am. Meet at Memorial Park, 417 7th Avenue.

Building healthy and cohesive communities in the Okanagan-Similkameen is an essential part of the programs and services offered by the RDOS. Pitch-In events are one of many volunteer opportunities the RDOS supports. Gloves, bags, and pickers will be provided, as well as complimentary cookies and water.
