EOC Update: Keremeos Creek wildfire live video update August 11, 2022, 2:00 pm PT

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen Emergency Operations Centre (RDOS EOC) is hosting an electronic video update to provide information about the Keremeos Creek wildfire (K50863).

Emergency Support Services (ESS) Reception Centres at Princess Margaret Secondary in Penticton and Victory Hall in Keremeos are open Thursday August 11, 2022. For further information, please visit emergency.rdos.bc.ca.

On Thursday, August 11, 2022, the EOC rescinded the Evacuation Order for the community of Olalla in Electoral Area G.

Highway 3A will remain closed to reduce the risk to fire crews. Local traffic only. RCMP members are patrolling the area. Checkpoints will remain in place to ensure only residents or property owners access the Olalla area.

Firefighters will be active along Highway 3A to monitor spot fires and protect homes.

Smoke may reduce visibility and residents are asked to slow down, drive carefully, and watch for crews and equipment.

Apex Mountain Resort remains under Evacuation Order until wildfire conditions permit re-entry and structural protection equipment is safely removed. Hoses and other structural fire protection equipment are currently blocking some roadways and firefighters are currently working in the community.

A portion of Green Mountain Road in Electoral Area I remains on Evacuation Order. Crews are working to protect homes in the area. It is not currently safe for residents or property owners to return at this time.
