PUBLIC HEARING Select Parcels, Okanagan Falls, Electoral Area "D" Zoning Amendment Bylaw

Description:

A zoning amendment is being sought that would allow for exemptions to the current off-street parking requirements for a select number of parcels fronting Highway 97 in Okanagan Falls.

 

Amendment Bylaw No. 2800.55, 2025, proposes to introduce the following changes to the Zoning Bylaw:

  • Revising the method in which off-street or loading spaces are calculated for properties within the Plan Area (see below).
  • No off-street parking spaces shall be required for a change of use or alteration of a building on a parcel within the subject plan area, provided there is no increase in gross floor area; and,
  • No off-street parking spaces that existed as of April 21, 2022, would be permitted to be removed, re-purposed, or rendered unusable.

 

NOTE: This public hearing is the continuation of the public hearing which took place and was recessed on September 4th, 2025.

This bylaw may also be inspected at the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen office at 101 Martin Street, Penticton, BC, on weekdays (excluding statutory holidays) between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. up until the close of the public hearing on September 18, 2025.

 

Anyone who considers themselves affected by Amendment Bylaw No. 2800.55, 2025, can present written information to the Regional District prior to or at the public hearing and may also speak at the public hearing. No representation from the public will be received after the conclusion of the public hearing.
