INFORMATION RELEASE

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS), in partnership with the Kaleden FireSmart Committee and Apex Fire Rescue, invites residents of Electoral Area “I” to attend a Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan (CWRP) Open House and FireSmart Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, November 15, 2025.

The CWRP is a five-year action plan designed to reduce wildfire risk and enhance community safety. Your input will help shape wildfire preparedness and mitigation strategies for Electoral Area “I,” including Kaleden, St Andrews, White Lake Road, Twin Lakes, Apex, Green Mountain Road, Farleigh Lake, and Green Lake Road.

Location: Kaleden Fire Hall (303 Lakehill Road, Kaleden, BC)

Schedule:

  • FireSmart Pancake Breakfast
    8:00 – 10:00 am
    Enjoy a pancake breakfast (by donation) and connect with local FireSmart representatives.
  • CWRP Open House & Community Discussion
    1:30 – 2:30 pm
    Learn about the CWRP, FireSmart strategies, and wildfire risk reduction initiatives. Share your feedback and ask questions during this interactive session.

Community participation is essential to building resilience. Attend to learn more and contribute to wildfire preparedness planning.
