Prior to June 30, some face-to-face public engagement had been completed. In addition, a survey was distributed via ad mail to residents in Electoral Areas "D" and "I". The survey was also accessible online and was heavily advertised, resulting in 282 responses. The responses from the surveys will be viewable in the Final Report.
Engagement Update: March 2019
The RDOS is requesting feedback from Electoral Areas "D" and "I" residents
As a result of the 2018 boundary change to Electoral Area "D" (Skaha East/Okanagan Falls) and the creation of Electoral Area "I" (Skaha West/Kaleden/Apex), residents are being asked to provide suggestions and input on the future use of the RDOS Community Service Office in Okanagan Falls which is currently funded through the Economic Development Service bylaw.
The satellite office currently provides local access to a variety of RDOS services and facilitation of community projects and initiatives.
During the public engagement process there will be opportunities for residents, groups and associations to provide feedback on the current office and service format. These opinions will inform RDOS staff and Area "D" and "I" Directors as they determine the mix of services delivered and the level of financial support the community is willing to commit. Public engagement over the next few months is intended to inform residents about the services currently being offered in Areas "D" and "I" through the community office; provide an opportunity for the Area "D" and "I" Directors to inform residents about proposed enhancements and changes to services; and encourage public involvement in decision-making.
Residents can learn more about the background of the Community Office and the proposed changes to the service by clicking here: Area "D" Residents or Area "I" Residents
