RDOS Recreation celebrates Move for Health Day

Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) Recreation will be hosting events on Saturday, May 10, 2025, to celebrate Move for Health Day, an international event established in 2002 by the World Health Organization (WHO). This day is dedicated to encouraging individuals and communities around the globe to engage in physical activity and embrace healthier lifestyles.
The events will take place at the Okanagan Falls Recreation Centre and the Similkameen Recreation Centre from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Activities will include learning the basic skills of pickleball, skipping, jumping, dancing, catching, and tossing. All ages are welcome to join, and there is no cost to participate. Light refreshments will be provided.
Physical activity is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being. Regular exercise can help prevent chronic diseases, improve mental health, and enhance quality of life. Move for Health Day serves as a reminder of the importance of staying active and provides an opportunity for people of all ages to participate in various physical activities.
