Kobau Park improvements to begin September 8

News Article

INFORMATION RELEASE

The Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) will begin improvement projects at Kobau Park on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, to enhance recreation amenities and support park infrastructure. The park is located within the RDOS in Electoral Area "B" (Cawston).

Planned improvements include the expansion of the existing concrete multi-use court, installation of new perimeter fencing around the court, and replacement of the park’s water pumphouse. The timeline for this work to be completed is by late November 2026.

To allow for construction, the multi-use court will be temporarily closed during portions of the project. Signage will be posted on-site to notify park users of closures and provide updates as work progresses.

The improvements will enhance the functionality and longevity of park amenities while supporting ongoing recreational use of the facility.

"Kobau Park is an important recreation space for residents and visitors alike,” said George Bush, Electoral Area “B” director. “These improvements will enhance the park's amenities and help ensure the facilities remain safe, functional, and enjoyable for years to come."

The RDOS appreciates the community’s patience during construction and asks that park users follow posted closure signage and exercise caution around active work areas.
