RDOS acknowledges passing of Captain Robert Somerville
News ArticleThe Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen (RDOS) expresses condolences to the family and friends of Captain Robert Somerville.
“Captain Somerville’s recent passing is a loss for the community of Okanagan Falls and the region,” says RDOS Chair Karla Kozakevich. “Our thoughts are with those impacted by this loss during this difficult time.”
Captain Somerville was an active member of the Okanagan Falls Volunteer Fire Department (OKFD) for more than 26 years. “Rob was a man of dedication and integrity,” says Okanagan Falls Fire Chief Fred Dobransky. “We are grateful he was able to share his skills and knowledge with many recruits throughout his years with OKFD. We will miss him.”
The Okanagan Falls Fire Department will lower their flag to half-mast for five days beginning Sunday, October 17, 2021 in recognition of Captain Somerville’s passing.
